NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters Legal) - A New York State senator facing charges of corruption, bribery, money-laundering and influence-peddling surrendered to federal authorities on Thursday, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney's Office said.
According to court documents, Senator Carl Kruger, a Democrat from Brooklyn, took at least $1 million in bribe money in a wide-ranging scheme that involved seven others. They include State Assemblyman William Boyland, lobbyist Richard Lipsky, hospital executives David Rosen and Robert Aquino, as well as real estate developer Aaron Malinsky and health care consultant Solomon Kalish. According to a complaint unsealed on Thursday, Kruger took at least $1 million in bribe money from Lipsky, Malisky, Kalish, Rosen and Aquino.
